The real reason for this post is to remind you all that the deadline for the Advisor Exchange Executive nominations is one week from today. Up to now, we have not received any nominations for either position.
I would also like to take a minute to let you know why you should consider letting your name stand...
Both of the positions up for election this year (President and
Communications Chair) will provide you with many opportunities to gain valuable
committee and communication experience. The time commitment is minimal and the
job can be what you make it.
I have sincerely enjoyed my time as President of the Advisor Exchange.
The experiences gained while working with our group have proven invaluable. Five years ago, when we re-formed the Advisor Exchange, part of our self-imposed mandate was to provide leadership opportunities to Advisors on campus. I have most certainly taken full advantage of my opportunity by developing valuable connections and relationships on campus and sitting on many University wide committees. The relationships and opportunities likely wouldn't have happened without my participation on the executive committee of the Advisor Exchange.

Our group is an important one, and with the recent appointment of the first University Advising Services Coordinator, we will continue
to play a vital role in connecting Advisors and shaping the way Advising
happens at the U of M. I hope that you will consider letting your name stand
and that the Advisor Exchange continues to grow and contribute to the University
community.
